The director, Ashley Pearce, has a taste for menacing landscapes, and he indulged it to the full… Pearce's cleverly banal version of the gothic, which unnerved through details as ordinary as a scrap of wind-blown litter scraping across a car park or sheets flapping in a suburban garden.
